Can't Wait for the Sale...

There's so many titles being released next month that I wanna get, so I can't wait for these sales. I dunno, I still prefer to get my DVDs in a store than online as that's how I discover new titles. But I know a few stores around where I live where I can get my anime...oddly enough, the Best Buy near where I live isn't on the first published list.

Cosplay Scavenger Hunt List Part 3: Japanese Schoolgirl Inferno

I really was hoping for Arizona to win, but it definitely doesn't look like that's happening, so I might as well set up a new list of styles to look for at anime conventions...Okay after checking the score at 4th qtr with 1:01 , I guess that they could win...Okay with 0:05 left, I guess it's over...

So part three is a list of fashion trends featured in the latest book I picked up (Japanese Schoolgirl Inferno: Tokyo Teen Fashion Subculture Handbook by Macias and Evers). Not really an anime cosplay list, but it probably wouldn't outside the realm of possibility to see such fashions at a con (I didn't include all the styles from the list so you can go buy the book like I did):

Sukeban (think Gogo Yubari from Kill Bill vol. 1 but with an ankle length skirt)

Kogal (preppy school girl look but with a slight tan, probably closer to the Valley Girl you see in so many high school movies you saw in the 80s...)

Gonguro (Ganguro?...okay, this is one that would have to be done carefully because it could be misinterpreted as blackface, but a decent example of this would be Chelsea Muir in Coyote Ragtime Show)

Takenoko Zoku (hopefully a person dressed as one didn't steal a banner from a store in order to make a cape)

Kigurumin (what I think is a gateway to the plushy/furry life, but please no more Pikachu)

Decora (kinda looks like a candy kid you'd see at a rave, but instead of candy necklaces, they are loaded with hair clips and plastic accessories)

Gothloli (do I really need to explain? I wonder if the commentator in the video is the author of the book I bought...)
