It Doesn't Take Much to Make Something Recognizable...

Been really busy last year as I was finishing up school work, and now that I have all this free time, I can finally get to doing all the other projects that I've been wanting to do.

I've been part of runDisney events as a volunteer or a 5k participant since the first Disneyland Half Marathon in 2006, and now after seeing what 10k runners get, I've decided to up my game with the hope of earning a Coast-to-Coast medal (do a Disneyland half marathon and a Walt Disney World half or full marathon in a calendar year) one day.

Anyway, for the inaugural Star Wars 10k, I wanted for once to try some form of costume instead of wearing the shirt that comes with the registration and bib.  I wanted to do something that I could run in, so I thought Princess Leia with the cinnamon bun hair as headphones.

A lot of people asked about the hair.  I replied, "I got the Leia wig as a costume shop".  I'm wearing earbuds under the buns that happen to cover my ears to give the illusion that the hair buns are really headphones.  I also found it neat that other runners wanted my picture not because of the hair, but because they volunteered for me in previous races...I guess I'm becoming a legend among the Disneyland running community.

Now with this new found free time, I have opportunities to try a lot more things than just planning for anime conventions.  I still have plans for some of my favorite fan events, but I'm definitely gonna work on some new projects in my free time.

One thing for sure...I refuse to dress up like this guy for a Disney race (I have my own cosplay plans for the D23 Expo)...
